Recreation Programs

Red Cross Babysitting Course
Date & Time: Wednesday, February 22 @ 6:00-10:00 pm and Saturday, February 25 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.
Location: Royal Hall (Winkler Arena, 2nd Floor)
Details: Minimum Age is 11 years old.  Cost is $60 per child.

Winkler Dodgeball League
Registration is now open for the inaugural season of the Winkler Dodgeball League. Dodgeball will run on Sunday evenings for 12 weeks from February to April. Players can register as a team or individual. To register, contact Winkler Parks & Recreation at 204-325-8333 or The cost is $250 per team or $40 per individual.

Teen Badminton
Winkler Parks & Recreation is offering a weekly Badminton program for students Grades 9-12. The program will take place at the Parkland Elementary School from 7:30 – 9:30 pm beginning November 23. A schedule and registration information is available at the School Office or Recreation Office.  Cost is $20 for the season or a $5 drop-in.  To register, go click here.

Parent/Youth Badminton
The Parent/Youth Badminton program is for parents and their children over 10.  The program will run on Thursdays, beginning October 6, from 7:00 - 10:00 pm at the Emerado Centennial School.  This program is unsupervised, therefore parents are asked to always attend the program with their youth.  To register, click here

IMPACT Coaching Academies
NCCP Manage a Sport Program
Date & Time: Wednesday, February 22, 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Location: Access Event Centre, Morden, MB
As coaches begin to take on more responsibility, they are expected to plan and execute tasks that go beyond the delivery of daily training and the management of the daily training environment.

The 4-hour Manage a Sport Program module provides coaches with the opportunity to plan and interact with program budgeting, setting staff and team expectations, arranging team travel, building athlete agreements, and reporting on athlete/team progress.

After completing the Manage a Sport Program module, you will be able to:

  • manage administrative aspects of the program and oversee logistic
  • manage staff’s roles and responsibilities;
  • manage camp and tournament finances and travel; and
  • report on athlete progress throughout program.

Hatha Yoga Classes
Date: Winter session start date has been postponed to January 19, 2017. 
Time: 4:00-5:00 pm, 5:30-6:30 pm or 7:00-8:00 pm
Where: Northlands Parkway Collegiate
Instructor: LaDawn Insull
Cost: $12 drop-in, $50 for 5 classes, $90 for 10 classes.  Youth (13-18) are half price.

Classes run twice a week:
