What You’ll Do:

The Parks & Recreation Maintenance Worker will work alongside the rest of the Parks & Recreation team in maintaining and operating all the facilities in the Parks & Recreation Department such as the Meridian Exhibition Centre, Centennial Arena, Winkler Aquatic Centre as well as Winkler’s many parks and trails. Some of the duties you will be responsible for include but are not limited to: 

  • Year-round ice maintenance including Zamboni driving
  • Maintenance of parks and rec spaces including parks, ball diamonds , soccer fields etc. 
  • Operating all maintenance equipment 
  • Pool maintenance 
  • Getting spaces ready for user groups

What You’ll Need:

A positive and dedicated attitude with great team spirit and self-motivation. Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, mechanics and maintenance are an asset.

Your qualifications should include: 

  • A valid Manitoba driver’s license
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Good communication skills for teamwork and working with the public
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision
  • A criminal record check may be required


Important to the long-term success in this position is obtaining a Level 1 Pool Management as well as a Manitoba Refrigeration Certificate.

Job Details:

Starting wage $19.82/hour (plus shift premium)
Full-time, permanent position with shift work included (shift work includes a shift premium)
