Winkler Water Treatment Plant Expansion
![]() | The City of Winkler, in collaboration with the Manitoba Water Services Board, has commissioned a water treatment plant expansion project. This expansion project has taken several years to design and prepare for construction. The expansion will increase the quantity of water the treatment plant can process over 200% by improving processing volume and significantly improving filtering efficiency. This project will also add another water storage reservoir to build on future peak capacity reserves. |
PROJECT UPDATES:
December 3, 2024:
The Treatment plant project work continues on schedule. The new building expansion walls and roof have been erected. The new storage tank is now operational. The regulation pilot skid trial run has been completed successfully with results indicating that the desired water treatment recovery is feasible. Work continues on the tie in of the existing piping to the new building below ground tank holding tanks. Winter work will include installation of the interior components of the new expansion.
Excavation for the new building expansion foundation has begun. Foundation piles for the building expansion have been installed.
